History

I was put out of my home (NYC) by my parents when I was 15. I was not able to finish high school as my parents signed me out of school. Since I was only 15, I could not sign myself back in unless I went to court and was declared an emancipated minor. I could not go to court because I did not have an address. So, I lived on the streets until I was able to join the U.S. Army. The Army rescued me from the streets and probably saved my life. Growing up I had always wanted to be a photographer but that didn't work out for me due to those circumstances. However, I have now returned to college to receive a degree in photography and I am in my second year. I have been awarded several honorable mentions, and a student 1st place photography award, and 1st place in the James City County Rural Contest. Academically, I am on the President's List and a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Coping through Art

I see things from a different perspective. I believe the story is in the eyes. It isn't always as it appears you have to look but mostly you have to feel the story.
