Army Veteran, Selina experienced repeated fractures, torn muscles, and chronic pain while serving, but didn’t learn until much later that she suffers from a condition called Ehlers Danlos, which is a collagen disorder that causes the tissues and bones in my body to become weakened, overstretched, and often resistant to proper healing.

She loves to volunteer, but the physical aspect of the volunteer work has caused her arms to develop tendon tears. She is looking for an assistive device that will enable her to perform some volunteer tasks again, while preventing further injury. She wants to get that feeling of purpose back.

She serves on the Ohio Women Veterans Advisory Committee and is a member of The Mission Continues, the Disabled American Veterans, Team Rubicon, Minority Veterans of America, American Red Cross Disaster Services, and the Hemophilia Federation of America.

Looking for: Sponsorship; mechanical and biomedical engineers, designers, prosthetists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, documenter/communications
