Challenge: controlling his devices without assistance

Add To Cart

Meet Lee:

Marine Corps veteran, Lee Tomlin, is quadriplegic after sustaining a spinal cord injury from a gunshot wound.

He is looking for more independence and would like to be able to control his devices with his voice or other means so that he can read books and watch movies on his own.

Meet the Team:

Zach Molseed (St. Edward High School), Justin Planovsky (St. Edward High School), Coleman Isner (St. Edward High School), Paige Erickson (Magnificat High School), Lee Tomlin (Veteran participant), Robin Tomlin (wife), Anthony Mortimer (St. Edward High School) Not pictured: Martin Tarr (360 Alley)

The Solution: Integrated voice controls

Team Lee integrated a number of existing voice command systems on Google Home, Netflix, and others to allow him a greater degree of control and independence. The team is now working to create video tutorials we can share with other veterans.
