Guitars for Vets Joins The Challenge America Veteran Arts Community

A new partnership between national Veteran nonprofits, Challenge America and Guitars For Vets, is building camaraderie and learning opportunities through guitar instruction, live events, and resources hosted in CAVARTS.org, the Challenge America Veteran Arts Community. Guitars For Vets now has a dedicated space within the CAVARTS online community, where it will offer fun and engaging guitar-related activities, including live events, guitar instruction, and more.

In celebrating this exciting partnership, both organizations hosted a live online kick-off event with special guest, Ben Mauro. Ben Mauro is a professional, international musician of over 30 years and has played with iconic legends and Las Vegas headliners, including Lionel Richie, Cher, Don Felder from the Eagles, John Fogerty, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, and Toni Braxton.

A recording of the event is available in the CAVARTS community for all Veterans and service members to view. Join CAVARTS at

About Guitars For Vets

The Guitars For Vets (G4V) mission is to put the healing power of music in the hands of heroes. G4V provides 10 free guitar lessons, both virtual and face-to-face, individualized and designed to help students learn at their own pace. Monthly group sessions are also organized at each chapter to provide Veterans a communal atmosphere to talk and continue to play music with peers who have shared similar experiences. In G4V group sessions, the connection created between individuals who are both warriors AND guitar players serves as a catalyst for positive human interaction. Makers for Veterans 2021 started on a high note with the final event in a year-long collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs to develop innovative solutions to the most urgent non-clinical challenges facing essential workers on the frontlines of COVID-19. This project produced 50 new products, including a low-cost telehealth case developed by Team HermTac, a portable physical therapy system developed by Team Wareology, and an exciting new wellness monitoring system developed by Team Okaya. These solutions and others keep our frontline workers safe while improving their ability to meet the needs of our most vulnerable friends and neighbors. In recognition of our efforts, the Small Business Administration awarded Challenge America the Lab-to-Market Ecosystem Responder Prize.
