Our Mission:

Overcoming Hopelessness through Purpose and Community

On September 15, 2021, four severely injured Veterans will overcome pain and adversity to summit Mt. Elbert, the highest peak in Colorado. In sharing their journey, the team hope to inspire Veterans and others who struggle to overcome their physical and psychological scars.

For this team to reach the 14,440 ft summit will require grit and strength. However, the true story of the team's journey is one of discipline; it is a story of giant steps and tiny habits. Each step up the mountain moves the team closer to its goal; however, it's the habits the team forges in the long weeks and months before that will truly prepare it for success.

Take the Mt. Elbert Challenge

To train, the team will climb 4,500 flights of stairs (45,000 vertical feet) in the coming months, roughly ten times the elevation gain of the Mt. Elbert Trail.

When you join us on Strava, you will commit to joining the team in reaching this goal. Strava will help you log your progress and help you keep tabs on the team as well.

Through Strava, you can also help the team spread its message of hope to Veterans and others who struggle with post-traumatic stress and suicidal ideation.
