We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting another Hooked on the Hook Workshop with Challenge America Music Therapist, Wolf Feldman this spring! This workshop will take place live on Zoom on Wednesday, April 8th from 4-5pm Eastern / 3-4pm Central / 2-3pm Mountain / 1-2pm Pacific Time. This workshop is open to members of the CAVARTS community and is free for all participants. This workshop has spots for 20 participants.
About the Hooked on the Hook Workshop:
Ever hear James Brown shout “Take me to the bridge”? Ever come across words like chorus, refrain, or verse??? If you like to listen to music then the chances are high that you have! But what do these words actually mean? Is there a formula to understanding how most popular music has been written or a code to crack in understanding it? The truth is that so much of the music we’ve grown up with follows a very similar form. In this workshop, we’ll take time to understand the keywords that we use to define sections of songs, listen to and analyze a variety of songs from different genres, and begin to consider which song forms and styles we connect with most. This workshop is open to anyone interested in furthering their understanding of song form. It will require participants to actively listen and practice mindfulness as we dive into the always entertaining world of popular music analysis.
How to Enroll:
Because spots are limited to 20, participants will be enrolled on a first come, first served basis and priority will be given to those who can attend the whole workshop. Once we fill the maximum number of spots for each workshop (20), we will start a waiting list.
