Empowering Veterans through the transformative power of the arts
Honoring service through creative expression.
At Challenge America - a 501(c)3 nonprofit - we have made it our mission to connect service members, Veterans and their families to resources and solutions that build community and give purpose to their lives.
From the beginning, we set out to challenge the status quo by designing and scaling innovative, evidence-based solutions to the needs of the military community - no matter where they live. By leveraging technology, creative arts and community solidarity, we are challenging America to think differently about how we serve our military.
-

Music Therapy for Veterans
The Challenge America Music Therapy Program leverages technology, the healing power of music, and best practices from trauma-informed therapy to help Veterans across the nation cope with the diagnosis or symptoms of PTSD and MST. Facilitated by a Board-Certified Challenge America Music Therapist in collaboration with Challenge America’s roster of professional Songwriters, the retreat connects Veterans to music, themselves, and to one another.
-

Art Therapy for Veterans
Developed by Challenge America Art Therapist Sarah Falk in 2025, Challenge America's virtual Art Therapy Retreats provide psychoeducation through art interventions from registered Art Therapists and art instruction from professional community-based artists to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life of Veterans who have experienced post-traumatic stress or military sexual trauma.
-

Challenge America Veteran Arts Community
With over 10,000 Veteran members, the Challenge America Veteran Arts Community (CAVARTS) community delivers virtual arts programming, connects Veterans to one another across the globe, and helps them discover programs and services available to support them in their artistry and beyond.
-

Military Sisterhood Initiative
With over 6,000 women Veteran members, the Military Sisterhood Initiative (MSI) provides a safe space for women of the military to connect through shared experiences in workshops, clubs, and curated content. Created by and tailored for women, MSI connects women Veterans to one another and spreads awareness about programs and services available to them.
