Ohio State Society Daughters of the American Colonists Music Therapy Retreat

Sponsored by the Ohio State Society Daughters of the American Colonists and administered through Challenge America, this four week long virtual retreat for women Veterans in the state of Ohio leverages technology, the healing power of music, and best practices from trauma-informed therapy to help Veterans residing in Ohio cope with the diagnosis or symptoms of PTSD and Military Sexual Trauma (MST).

Veteran participants benefit from:

  • Evidence-based music therapy techniques presented by a board-certified Music Therapist

  • Songwriting strategies to reframe trauma from their military experience

  • Lasting relationships that interrupt the vicious cycle of isolation

  • A guitar to turn to in times of darkness for comfort and to express emotions

  • Access to resources, including the Challenge America Veteran Arts Community (CAVARTS), the Military Sisterhood Initiative (MSI), & our growing library of free video tutorials on guitar, songwriting, & mindfulness lessons

  • A renewed sense of hope, belonging & purpose

This retreat is open to women Veterans who reside in Ohio. If you are interested, please complete this brief form, and a member of our team will contact you soon. Please note that submitting this form does not guarantee a spot at the retreat.
