National Hug A G.I. Day!

Author: Julianna Cooper, Challenge America Program Coordinator

Today is a special day - National Hug a G.I. Day!

March 4, is the only date on the calendar that is simultaneously a military command — march forth! — so it’s only appropriate that this be a day that we celebrate the servicemen and servicewomen in our lives with National Hug a G.I. Day.

The term “G.I.” has referred to members of the U.S. military since 1940 - which encompasses all the incredible individuals here in the Challenge America community.

Today, and everyday, we celebrate all that you incredible and courageous individuals have done for us and our country.

Thank you for your sacrifice, dedication, service, and bravery.  Our gratitude will never be enough, but we want you to know how appreciated you are.

All of us at the Challenge America team are sending a virtual hug to the CAVARTS and Military Sisterhood communities - we hope that this space always feels like a metaphorical hug: a safe haven for you to share yourself and your art with people who understand your experiences.

We hope you feel celebrated and loved today - we will never be able to thank you enough for all that you have done and continue to do!
